Cherry Pie

I’m not sure why, but there is something so quintessential about making cherry pie in July. I used the recipe from Joy the Baker, but opted for a lattice top instead. While I was in the kitchen yesterday, I had the windows open to let the cool ocean breeze blow through the apartment and had Pandora playing in the background. All of the sudden I stopped what I was doing and was so immeasurably happy and content to be where I am in life. It made me take a step back and really appreciate what this Fourth of July weekend is all about. I’m going to a birthday party tonight and a bbq on Saturday and serisouly can’t wait to watch some fireworks. I hope you have a fun and safe weekend!
