My Favorite Lipstick and Eyeshadow Combos

Suffice it to say, the weather here in LA is still quite warm. I would love to whip out my scarves and boots, but I would look ridiculous (and probably feel ridiculously hot). But that doesn’t mean that I can’t have fun messing around with my makeup. I usually don’t wear much makeup, but I love how this time of year encourages darker, bolder makeup looks. My particular favorite is a adding a punchy lip to an outfit. I consider a bold lipstick as somewhat of an accessory, it can really pull together a look when paired right. When I first got into wearing lipstick I would buy any color that caught my eye, regardless of that fact that it might make me look washed out or clash with my skin tone. I like to think I know what I’m doing these days, but to be honest, I’m pretty loyal to the colors and brands I own. Once I find what works for me, I’m devoted for life. Boring? Maybe. But at least I know what I’m in for. Here are some of my favorite lip and eyeshadow combos I plan on wearing this season.

Vampy Lips & Soft Pink Eyeshadow – I absolutely love this lipstick. The texture is soft and creamy allowing me to build the intensity of the color without my lips ever feeling dry or cakey. I wore it with this lovely dusty pink eyeshadow to balance the dark lip.

MAC Rebel, NARS All About Eve Eyeshadow

Nude Lips & Smokey Eyes – This lipstick color is in the mocha, dusty rose, deep nude color scheme. The earthy undertones paired well with the shimmery brown eyeshadow. I love how wearable it is for daytime, but could easily add some eyeliner for a nighttime look.

bareMinerals Moxie Take Charge, MAC Subculture Lip Pencil, MAC Mulch Eyeshadow

Red/Orange Lips & Copper Lids – I wear this lip color throughout the year and it never gets old. Adding copper-colored eyeshadow adds that autumnal feel while complementing the orange hue in the lipstick without necessarily matching.

NARS Heatwave, MAC Lasting Sensation Lip Pencil, MAC Amber Lights Eyeshadow

Cherry Lips with Golden Eyes – I love how classic red this lipstick is. I kept the eyes subtle by adding the tiniest cat eye and a light dusting of gold eyeshadow for a festive look. I’m calling it right now, I’ll probably do my makeup like this for New Year’s Eve!
